Thank you.

I was born in a religious family. I was taught to cover my hair when I was six years old. When I was 7, there were only 2 persons in the class who wearing the hijab. Me and the other friend. I found nothing was wrong with that. Up until now, I know it is an obligation for muslim. Dad told me so.

When I was 8 years old, my mum asked me to wear the hijab permanently because before I was inconsistently covering my hair. My dad also asked me to have a full fasting in Ramadhan because before I was not. And yes, I did it until now.

The first time I stood up on the stage is when I was 8 years old when my class teacher asked me to lead the singing of Asma' al-Husna in every school assembly. I asked my dad's permission and he allowed me.

I was the only standard 3 student who was selected to join the Nasyid team of the school. The other members were all standard 5 and 6 students. My first song was Rindu by Hijjaz. When I asked my mum, she was nodding means she agrees.

When I was 11, I was asked by my teacher to represent my school in Tilawah al-Quran. That was my first experience. My mum said yes again, because she knows how far can I go. She teaches me how to read Quran since I was 5 years old. I went to school and told the teacher that my mum gives me the green light.

At 12, I asked my mum to quit from Nasyid because I want to represent my school in Syarahan Bahasa Arab. My mum asked me repeatedly whether I was ready or not and I said yes, I really want it and I ready for it. She keeps nodding and said, "You can do it.".

I just miss the moments I asked for my mum and my dad's permission in everything I want to do. Now, it remains the same. But the situation is little bit different. They will not be nodding, but they probably will be asking. Why? And when I about to finish my explanation they will be saying, "Buat elok-elok."

Thank you mum and dad for giving the opportunity for me to choose the best path in my life.

p/s; Tomorrow I'll be going to Putrajaya to represent UiTM in a debate competition. Do pray for the best!
